One would be "hard-pressed" to find a more unique, charming cottage in a more beautiful location. Anyone who has spent time in this cottage has fallen in love with it. (It is rented only when it is not being used by the family). The cottage was built on the water's edge before the time of set-backs. A great screen porch is furnished with a wrought iron dining room set and chairs and couch. There is plenty of room for relaxation or you can climb an old ship's ladder to the sun roof over the porch and observe the activities in Sawyer Harbor.

The living room, with a vaulted ceiling and warm butternut planking walls has a large limestone fireplace. The cottage has been furnished with many antique pieces, including a restored Hoosier cupboard, a marble top chest, and an antique nautical Fresnel lens lantern. The kitchen is well equipped with a large side by side refrigerator and a full-sized electric range. Also on the first floor is a bedroom which has an outside entrance which leads to the secluded, landscaped backyard. There is also a full bath, with built-in tub and shower.

At the end of the living room, rustic hand-hewn steps lead to the second floor, an airy open loft with sky lights and large windows, ceiling fan, two queen size beds and a half bath.
A few feet from the front of the cottage is a dock which extends into the sheltered waters of Sawyer Harbor. In early summer the black bass can be seen busily spawning close to the dock. The waterfront is also active with many types of waterfowl, egrets, ducks, herons, and swans. The seven acre island has a large variety of natural flora. The sunsets over Sawyer Harbor are spectacular from this perfect location.
